What must I do to be saved?

Many people make becoming a Follower of Christ much to difficult. While the Bible does have some tough & yes, hard to understand spots, coming into a personal relationship with God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, is not one of them.

Here is what the Bible says about it...

Jesus is the Christ!

This means that He alone is the one the prophets of old, spoke about all through Jewish History. Jesus is the anoited Son of God. The only Savior of the human race.

Acts 4:12 says - "Salvation is found in no one else for there is no other name under heaven, given to men by which we must be saved"

I am a sinner!

The Bible says that, "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God"  Romans 3:23

That simply means that I have missed the mark that the Creator has established for me as a human being. I have in at least one way (and a whole lot more) got it wrong, did it my way instead of Gods. I Have put self ahead of my Heavenly Father and in doing so fallen from perfect unity with our Holy God. This is my delima.. I am seperated from God because of my SIN! no one elses -So if you have in any way sinned, rebelled, disobeyed at any time - you are alot like me! a sinner and seperated from God because of it.

There is good news!

"God so loved the world that He gave His only Son" John 3:16

Jesus came to pay the penalty for my SIN! He took the punishment that was directed at me and nailed it to the cross forever. My past, present and future sins have been paid for by Jesus Christ the Son of God. There was nothing that I could do to get those taken care of. So God sent Jesus to take care of it for me. All I can do is accept His grace and love for me.

So What do I do?

That is the best question anyone could ever ask... In the Bible the people who were cheering to have Jesus crucified realized they had made a big mistake. And in Acts 2 they asked the very same question, "What must we do" Peter gives us the truth to this delema of ours.

He says, "repent and be baptized, everyone of you, in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit"

Coming into a personal relationship with God is not difficult. Here are some things to think on:

-Believe that Jesus is who He said He is -check it out, discover the truth!

-Make a conscious decision to have Him come into your life and fill you with His Holy Spirit -ask the Lord Jesus to come into your life right now and help you.

-Be honest with God & yourself about your sin - confess it to the Lord & keep it real with God.

-Be Baptized into Jesus Christ - let Him wash you of your sin and give you His Holy Spirit to dwell in you forever.

-Then do your very best to live each day to honor your Father in Heaven... He loves to be with you!!
